Default Google+ Pages

don;t know if you are aware, but you can now create a Google+ Page for your business.

The most compelling reason (at the moment) is that Google are creating a Direct Search function, so that anyone typing + and a brand name will go directly to that Google+ Page, not the main search results, so you need to secure it.

Its hard to say if it will be better for business. The search function mentioned is certainly an interesting addition and might increase visitor numbers, so it will be worth seeing the effects businesses see.

However im not sure if any social media is really a tool for generating business, more a marketing tool to increase brand awareness.

It will be Interesting to see how the google pages look.

Does anyone know how to convert already existing Google+ pages accounts to a Google+ for business page account? Does one have to just create a separate Google+ for business page?

Yes that has happened - we use our Google + site at the moment (Simply Business) but it isn't very active and we are working on how to create more communication with our customers.

I would probably liken Google+ to twitter in the fact that a lot of people use it primarily as a news channel and a chat / social site second.

How popular do you think Google+ is going to become? Also this is a big off topic but does anyone plan to use Facebook Branded Timelines?
