Default What next...

Was scanning the radio in the van this morning trying to lock in Radio 2 and stumbled across Radio 4.

There was a very serious discussion going on regarding dogs and cats. One tree hugging loney was seriously suggesting that we should not be allowed to own them as they are....bad for the environment.

Im sorry but why dont these idiots just **** off !

Then they had some other "expert" on and it has been worked out that everyone of us has a carbon footprint of 14 tonnes, this needs to be 2 tonnes apparently. Then there was talk of taxing us if we go over it.

Could you ever see the government doing this and what do you think in general

This crap really annoys me.

I don't own pets, but I grew up with them. If no-one can owns pets theres going to be those big-ass dogs starving...what happens, they hunt for food. At present dog's are kept domestic, if they become wild they would attack people (alot more). Not only that but they are a big part of peoples lives so they can kiss my ass.

Now onto this whole "green thing" this annoys me even more, I don't drive & I use public transport, but that'll change its damn hard to go through my life without my own means of transport and I'm sure for alot of people it would be harder. This whole carbon footprint thing is complete crap, my house goes through a tonne of refuge, 3kids tend to do that, I have 2 black bins, they get emptied every 2 weeks (which really sucks it used to be every week) so now when they collect them they get 2 bins crammed full and then about 4-5black bags...which they never take so atleast once a month I need to hire someone to tip the excess.

Quite frankly Im sick and tired of all this green crap, if they want to reduce carbon emissions maybe they should cut back on the missile testing, but taxing people as a deterrent is a pile of crap.

A huge bug-bare of mine, is I pay a tax on the roads, yet when I use public transport the money used is also to cover there road tax so I'm paying it twice, despite never having my own method of transport. I smoke, yet drivers who don't smoke don't pay the tax thats every increasing on my cigs. So many fecking double standards and "deterrant taxes" is just a waste of damn time.

If they do introduce this stupid carbon footprint crap the first thing I'll do is take all the excess refuse (which i'll organize so its moldy, crap filled nappies n ****) and dumb it on the downing street door-step!

I was encouraged by the news on BBC last night that a new poll shows that something like only 1 in 4 people believe there is any man made effect on the climate.

More and more of the research is being shown to have been fiddled to fit what 'they' (ie the government) want it to say.

I remain of the opinion that in a few hundred years time people will look back on us and say 'Aww how cute, they used to believe that man could influence climate'. Much as we now look back on those who thought the earth was flat!

We've kept records on this planet for around 300 years and I can't even work out how many 00's i'd need after the . to say what percentage of the age of this planet that amounts to but it would be a helluva lot!

Making predictions based on that ridiculously small sample is a complete nonsense.

However, worse than even the extremely bad science, in my view, is that I think the politicians know it too. But climate change is a means for them to keep people fearful and therefore under their control (as their alleged saviours from this terrible calamity). Added to that it's a means to tax people more and the politicians just love it.

It's a load of complete rubbish.

Perhaps assisted suicide can be redefined as reducing a 14 tonne carbon footprint. Keep this up and mass murderers could be treated like saints....

He entered the office block shot 50 people and spared the world of 600 tonnes of CO2 emissions...what a hero!

Look at Bin Laden.... greenest man on the planet spared the world of 42000 tonnes of CO2 or Hitler the God of Greenpeace spared the world of 420 million tonnes of CO2!

We need to seriously look at morality.

I had a huge debate with Cath about this post, I admit it is controversial. But if you really believe that man is the cause of global warming and thus it's destruction, it is also time to review history.

Interesting post and I guess if looking at things in a purely black and white point of view then yes, the biggest murderers in history are those that are doing the most to save the planet but then Hitler would surely lose some of his plaudits as all the tanks, airplanes and rockets launched surely dumped a load of CO2 into the air? I guess by this logic we would also be saying that GWB and Blair were also great leaders when it come to the planet? Perhaps the US Govt were already thinking green when they released the HIV virus into the world.
