Default Deposit Return - Kitchens Direct

Aboyt 12 months ago I paid a £3k deposit to Kitchens Direct for the chosen kitchen. This was to go into my new built house but now I cant have the kitchen. I have no gas or water and the kitchen can not be fitted. There own terms advise that if it is impractical to fit the kitchen then they can cancell and return the deposit. I wrote to them advising that I want the deposit back and gave then 7 days to reply. They have not. I emailed them and customer services advise they will have the regional sales manager call me. He does not.

How can I freeze there assets?

Dave

Hi Dave and welcome to FBF

First off, I believe Kitchens Direct is owned by a company called HomeForm Group Limited, their registered office is located at: 2 Brindley Road, Old Trafford, Manchester, M16 9HQ.

I would send a recorded delivery letter there addressed to a Director, outlining the situation and explaining how you interpret their refund policy. Hopefully you will get a reply to that, if not...post on here again and can advise you further.

Rule No;1

NEVER Pay upfront for nothing .. Stage payments yes but NEVER upfront..

If the Company needs upfront money then they shouldnt be in business in my opinion ...
Yea sure you will say well they all ask for it .. Yea your right and the sheep of the Country go along and then bleat when they get dodgy workmanship or in some cases never see the goods, or there money ever again..

I have survived well in life by never paying upfront for anything

When the goods are in my hands they get the money simple common sense .
Only exception is online by credit card but then you have protection ..

Oh Hi and welcome by the way ..

Kitchen Direct; VERY VERY rude people, I tried get an kitchen from them and explain that they will get paid in stage payments like

Deposit- £100
1st Payment as work starts
2nd Payment as work is middle and nearly ready
3rd payment Once all work is finished and snagging is complete
Final Payment after 3months of use.

They agreed and after 2month My Kitchen worktop BROKE, YES BROKE in half where my Microwave was and Kitchen Direct said that "It was your own fault as you should not have Microwaves on units" (Unsure where it was meant to go) Then they explain "sale of Goods Act" which was totally made up as I know the "Sales of Good Act" and "Distance Selling Act".

And lucky enough they never fixed kitchen but After an Court Case They were issued to refund my money and I got an Ikea Kitchen which I love and great for any parts, Only had get part for Door Handle which was my fault. and your need to be Firm.
