Default Is our public liability insurance enough....

We are offering free face painting in our shop as part of the crimbo day the town is laying on.

Would we need to take out extra insurance or do you think we will be covered under our public liability insurance?

Chubs,

I would imagine that is down to WHO is carrying out the face painting

I can only assume having seen some of your artwork that it is a 3rd party?

If so then the liability lies with them.....you should have enough liability for visiting of the general public

The public liability on your premises will be around £1m I expect, which should hopefully be more than enough, however the point is whether your insurance company could try wriggling out of paying a claim as face painting is not part of your usual business activity.
