Default Hello

Good morning - and it's hello from me and hello from him...I'm a Gemini you see;-)

Anyway, thought I should say hello before generally posting. from redundancy last September to running my own health & Safety practice today. It has been a bit of a whirlwind trip but so far so good. referrals and recommendations are accounting for most of my work, but hopefully some SEO exposure will help me receive some enquiries...fingers crossed:-)

Occupational H&S can at first sight be somewhat of a minefield. I can assure you it is not and when one can clearly separate the myths from reality it all unfolds quite clearly.

Sadly we are an unregulated industry..As far as our competence goes anyway, which technically permits anyone to set up in private practice.

Hopefully in time we will be regulated fully...I hope so anyway.

So signing off for now and thoroughly looking forward to participating further. If I can help anyone who is generally confused on what is required of them do not hesitate to ask. helping others is a great pleasure.

Oh me? Well I'm fully Chartered (CMIOSH). Chartered member of the Institution of Occupational Safety & Health, a registered mentor, and one of those alleged 'fuddy-duddies' that sits on panel review interviews when other members wish to progress to eventual Chartered status themselves. Ahh, nearly forgot, moderate on the IOSH forums as well.

Mike

Welcome to the forums.

never really thought on this but I run a LLP with my wife and work from Home, do I need to be worried about H&S considering were the only employees? I don't have clients come onto the premises either all done digitally.

Hi Michael

A limited liability partnership has no bearing on the H&S aspect that applies to you. Whilst you have nothing really to be concerned about right now other than basic compliance - which does not really involve the H&S hat, you may consider some basics in case one half of the partnership ever wishes to take action against you (more civil based) for not doing this that or tother.

No, it really kicks in for you once you have more than four persons within the org which does include the both of you. When and if that is ever the case simply come back to know which way to go.

Mike
