| Has anyone experienced slow wifi connections using vista? Ive had this problem a while now and several attempts to sort it have come up blank. The wireless connection is reliable, but i cannot get above 11mb/s if i do a repair connection, it briefly goes up to 54mb/s then drops back down to 11mb/s it doesnt cause a problem while surfing the internet, but doing large file transfers across the network is a real pain. Another identical laptop has the same issue, but on a different network. my other laptop running xp pro has full 54mb/s connection on the network, so it cant be the router thats causing the problem. anyone have any suggestions? Andy. |

| Vista is usually quite good at negotiating network configurations so I wouldn't but the blame on Vista just yet.. Have you got a firewall such as mcafee installed? I know that for some weird reason the mcafee firewall can cause havoc with wifi connections (especially on Vista). Also try disabling the windows firewall and testing?
