Default DPD Courier Complaints

Yep another thread about useless couriers, but DPD definitely win the prize for the worst courier we have had any dealings with. Thankfully we don't use them, but from our experience of them delivering to us, I am amazed any one does.

In the past month alone:
1/. Their drivers have been rude and threatening to my staff.
2/. Their drivers have been rude and threatening to our customers.
3/. They have forged signatures on claimed deliveries ...have to say the stupidity of signing them with their branch managers name says it all!
4/. They book in deliveries that then don't arrive.
5/. 5 days after all the snow had gone they were still claiming that adverse weather was the cause of not being able to deliver.
6/. Returned items back to us, that we have refused, so should be returned to the supplier (because DPD had smashed them in transit).
7/. They do not return calls / e-mail.

And Grr....Anyway, I feel better for getting that off my chest.

If you have had a bad experience with DPD Couriers, I would love to hear from you.

I've used them a bit for deliveries to Europe and not had any problems with them. (Sorry, not what you were wanting to hear...)

As I will be pointing DPD to this thread in my reply to their automated e-mail, I just thought I would remind them of what other people think of their "service"

Never used DPD, but on the signatures thing, I often get things through the door with Royal Mail recorded delivery sticker on it where we certainly haven't signed for it. Makes me think it's probably not worth using recorded delivery myself.

Also my sister recently got a package special delivery, put through the letterbox with nobody in, and the postman had scribbled on the packaging "Signed for by your friendly postman"...! On the one hand I suppose that can be handy if you're out a lot, going to the post office on a saturday morning to pick stuff up is a pain...but surely it removes any kind of security from the system!

DPD are the worse of the wrose! They have cocked up my delivery so many times, Its no longer funnY! The initial delivery was alledgedly signed for by someone at my house, yet I live alone. The name who signed, was not even a real name, you could barely pronounce it. Upon finally leaving the house I found they had left it on my drive behind my car (not visable from inside the house). This had been left in the rain and damp for 30 hours so when I saw it. it was wet and weighed over 40 kilos! I'm a women, just moved to the area, live alone, you do the math! Wet heavy box! I'd like to say in 2 weeks this has been resolved, but still no parcel due to further crap promises and bad service. These guys could not run a bath. steer well clear.

Some times you can get problems with using couriers who hire sub contractors. Also many couriers group their deliveries so your parcel could be 1 in 20 to be delivered.

The above deliver methods can sometimes cause major problems, have you not considered a courier that delivers to you direct?

Surely you all have the ultimate weapon - the small claims court - its open for all.

I have a friend that sued a pub landlord for not changing his £3.00 drink, when he found the glass was chipped, and won with costs.

I have sent a copy pre-filled in county court claim forms racking up the costs, to companies like this, threatening them with action by telling them I will be submitting the form to court within say 7 days - it works.

If apathy, irresponsibility, carelessness and negligence start to cost DPD, they will soon stop it.

DPD did it on me today btw! Watch this space.
