Default What to try to get a WP theme to work?

Urgh, Ive installed about a trillion wp themes over the past week to find that 'perfect' one, but I know which one I really want, and its the only damn one that wont work!!!

It uploads fine to my ftp, but just doesnt appear in my wp admin as an available theme?!

Is there anything at all you guys can think of for me to try to see If I can get it working??

Hmm, if you are uploading other themes and they are working ok, it probably isnt something your doing wrong as they should all upload the same really.

can you not see the theme at all in the wp admin?

Andy.

Nope, its just not there. All the others Ive tried are fine. Ive also tried to upload it on 2 seperate blogs now, but nothing.

I tried contacting the person that designed the theme but he hasn't replied and I cant find any evidence of anyone else having any issues with it....

i assume the folder and files show up ok on the ftp directory after uploading.

try opening the theme folder and compare the files to another theme, see if there is anything obviously missing, like index.php or similar

Well actually, now you mention it, it is different. I dont know alot about files, but all that is appearing for that theme is the extracted zip file (open box image) thing and an options.php. But theres no actual little blue folder file thing for that theme to even open.....

Laura, do you want to email me the theme over or send me a link to it and i'll see if i can work it out.

It sounds like either a file compression issue or maybe some of the theme files missing.

Andy.
