Default Delivery Times

When purchasing something from a website how long are you prepared to wait?

I find that in these day and ages people expect the item to be on the doorstep the next day. And I also find it amusing that people will place an order at 11pm and expect to get it the next morning

Are we just expecting more or are we looking for the unachievable?

I'm a bit like that. I will spend a week choosing something, then as soon as I have decided, I want it ASAP!

If the expected delivery is more than a few days, I will look somewhere else.

That's what I thought.

I can spend hours trawling through Amazon find what I want and then realise it could take a week to get to me

I'm the same as Peter. If a business is selling goods readily available on the high street, or on lots of competing online stores, I think it's commercial suicide to take any longer than 3-4 days. I'll generally wait up to a week for something without querying it or complaining, but the businesses that can deliver within 2-3 days (without charging me outrageously for it) are the ones who get my repeat business/loyalty. Of course, this is all dependent on the carrier too, which is why I especially like to receive email confirmation when my order has been despatched so I know when to expect it and can chase if up more easily if it doesn't arrive.
